This Wisconsin Restaurant Has A Buffet So Legendary That Locals Guard It Like A Secret Treasure

Some secrets are meant to be shared, and the buffet at Colonial House Supper Club in Kaukauna is exactly that kind of secret. Except the locals have been trying to keep this one all to themselves for years, and honestly, you can’t really blame them. There’s something almost sacred...

There’s A Reason People Keep Coming Back To This Wisconsin Buffet With Its Never-Ending Food Options

Unlimited sirloin steak at a buffet sounds almost too good to be true. Especially when nobody expects you to stop at just one serving. And that’s only the beginning. With more than 60 options and a menu that changes throughout the week, this is hardly a one-hit wonder. One evening brings Southern favorites, another leans into home-style comfort food, and Sunday has brunch covered.

This Family-Owned Wisconsin Butcher Shop Sells Dry-Aged Steaks And Farm-Raised Meats Worth A Detour

A butcher shop with its own library and a big family-style table for reading? That tells me quite a bit before anyone even mentions a steak. It says the people behind the counter want you to learn something. They teach whole-animal butchering classes, so the curiosity runs deep. It also...

The Wisconsin Breakfast Spot That Might Just Become Your New Weekend Tradition

Monkey bread split into five sections, swimming in caramel sauce, and served with butterscotch on the side. That is a real breakfast order here. I can’t decide if it’s dessert or a dare. The hash browns get stuffed, too. Pulled ham and cheddar is one option. Goat cheese...

The Old-School Wisconsin Meat Market That Locals Prefer To Keep To Themselves

Every sausage link here gets hand-twisted seven times. That’s not a typo, and it’s not a machine doing the work either. The brats come in more than 40 varieties, including Bacon Cheeseburger and Hawaiian. Two brick smokehouses fire up with real hardwood sawdust every weekday. Those same smokers...

This Small-Town Northern Wisconsin Shop Is Serious About Old-School Sausage

A butcher shop up north makes a Packers brat stuffed with cheese curds and jalapeño. That one sausage tells me quite a bit. It says somebody behind the counter is having fun. Mixing football pride with squeaky curds is a very Wisconsin kind of creativity. It also says the...

12 Wisconsin Italian Restaurants Where You Can Enjoy Italian Favorites On A Budget

One Italian spot on this list hands out free breadsticks on your first visit. I love that kind of welcome, and honestly, I’d accept that bribe every single time. Another kitchen offers a pizza in a 30-inch size. A third serves Chicago-style deep dish alongside eggplant fries. Then there’s...

This Wisconsin Pizza Spot Stacks Fresh Slices On The Table And Has Locals Raving About It

Somebody put mac and cheese on a pizza back in 2001, and it became the best-selling slice ever. That single bold idea still drives hungry crowds to one corner near a state capitol. The menu doesn’t stop there. You’ll find slices topped with ravioli, cheesy potatoes, nacho fixings, and BBQ...

12 Wisconsin Restaurants Where Cozy Comfort Food Doesn’t Have To Break The Bank

One Wisconsin diner serves veggie meatloaf inside a renovated gas station. Another hands out free Kool-Aid with po’ boys. This list starts strange and only gets better. The food here is the stuff of rainy Tuesdays and long road trips. Booyah by the bowl. Chicken and waffles beside blues...

These Crab Cakes Are Giving Wisconsin Seafood Lovers A Reason To Return

Crab cakes sit on the same appetizer list as homemade sauerkraut balls and a Bavarian Scotch egg. That lineup alone tells you this kitchen enjoys a little friendly chaos. The building dates back to 1948, and one family kept the lights on starting in 1967. I love it when a place carries that much history without acting stuffy about it.

De Pere and Kaukauna Piggly Wiggly shoppers can expect an experience "above and beyond your normal Piggly Wiggly," according to the stores' future owners . Fox Bros. Piggly Wiggly on Nov. 2 announced it would purchase the stores at 300 E. Ann St., Kaukauna, and 575 Swan Road, De Pere, effective Jan. 31. Mike Olwig, the company's president, said the 100% employee-owned grocery chain turns its special sales, like a one-day meat sale and bratfest, into full-blown events. "We do it above and beyond your normal Piggly Wiggly," Olwig said. "We like to have fun with them. It’s definitely an event in the store." Olwig said the company will look to infuse the same energy into the Kaukauna and De Pere stores next year. The two stores will be the 12th and 13th stores Hartland-based Fox Bros. owns and operates. They'll be the first two in northeastern Wisconsin. When the opportunity arose to buy the two stores from Stoneridge Meat and Country Market, Fox Bros. was excited for the opportunity to continue to grow. "What better way than into new markets? We were excited about that," Olwig said. He sees it as a win-win-win proposition: The company expands its operations,
