Milwaukee Mile Free Fan Zone opening for 250s Weekend
MILWAUKEE - The Hy-Vee Milwaukee Mile 250s Weekend announced on Wednesday the debut of a new experience for Milwaukee Mile and State Fair fans alike: the Free Fan Zone. Open and free to the public, organizers said the Free Fan Zone will be located in the heart of Wisconsin State Fair Park, just outside the Milwaukee Mile Grandstands. The Free Fan Zone will be open for the upcoming Labor Day weekend race – Aug. 30 through Sept. 1 – and has a similar footprint to Wisconsin Sate Fair Park's Harvest Fair.
Survey shows possible support for Oak Creek High School pool referendum
A recent community survey appears to show support for at least one proposed option in pursuing a referendum to update or replace Oak Creek High School's pool. The Oak Creek-Franklin School District recently released the results of a survey intended to gauge the amount of community support for the potential projects. There was the most support for a $36 million option to build competition and community pools, with 52% of the 4,008 respondents supporting that option.
