    Wanted man on the run, spotted in Baxter Springs, search caused schools to go on lockdown

    CHEROKEE COUNTY, Kan. (KOAM) — A BOLO was issued for a man wanted on a bond revocation warrant.

    Thursday morning law enforcement received a tip that Josh Ferguson was at a residence in southern Baxter Springs, Kan. Law Enforcement checked the residence and he was not located.

    The original charge of Attempted Murder stems from an incident involving one of Ferguson's family members in May, 2023.

    After clearing the residence, law enforcement then searched the area extensively. The search caused area schools to go into lockdown .

    Anyone with information as to Ferguson's whereabouts are encouraged to contact the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office at 620-429-3992 or by texting 888777, type 'tip cherokee' followed by info you're able to provide.
