HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Henderson County Water District (HCWD) announced a boil water advisory has been issued for most of Baskett.

Officials say HCWD is undertaking necessary repairs for a water main break in Baskett. As part of this work, water service will be interrupted for most of the community of Baskett. As a precaution, a Boil Water Advisory is issued for the following areas in Baskett:

    • From the intersection of KY Hwy 1078 N on Dr Hodge Rd. to the end of Dr Hodge Rd. at Tscharner Rd.
      • This includes Baskett Alley Rd., Church St., Maple St., Carson Dr., Railroad St., First Ave., and Second St. Work is ongoing and when water service is restored, these areas will be under a Boil Water Advisory until further notice.

The HCWD says it is advised that customers run a 5 to 10-minute flush at all their taps and throw away all ice. Please boil all water used for human consumption to a rolling boil for 3-5minutes.

Officials say the estimated time that the advisory will be in effect is subject to satisfactory bacteriological testing. A second notice will be issued when the advisory is lifted. If anyone has any questions or concerns, please contact HCWD at (270) 826-9802.

A spokesperson for the HCWD says, “We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as this is for our customers’ protection.”
