Coroner identifies six men killed in US-20 crash
IDAHO FALLS – The names of the six people who died in a major crash Saturday morning have been released. According to Bonneville County Coroner Rick Taylor, the victims include Abel Mejía Martínez, 43, Pedro Manuel Alcantar Mejía, 26, Brandon Ponce Gallegos, 24, Jose Guadalupe Sánchez Medina, 20, Luis Enrique Sereno Perez, 32 and Javier Gomez Alcantar, 36.

The first Movers for Moms event in Bingham County yielded 725 items for the Bingham Crisis Center in Blackfoot. BLACKFOOT — An eastern Idaho city has received a half a million dollar grant to replace what becomes its busiest road nine days out of the year. The city of Blackfoot received the Idaho Community Development Block Grant for Downtown Revitalization for $500,000, which will be used to bring North Broadway Street up to current standards. This project is only a small part of a larger ongoing effort by the city to revitalize its downtown area.

100 years agoThirty local baseball fans met the evening of May 16 in the green room of the Manhattan Cafe to lay plans for the organization of a twilight league of six teams to play a schedule of 15 weeks throughout the summer of 1924. “Joe Paddock, Idaho Falls High School football coach, was the toastmaster and gave valuable advice on how to successfully carry out the schedule and maintain a maximum of interest and enthusiasm,” the Salt Lake Tribune reported.
