Drug bust at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda
A shoplifting call turned more serious after Montgomery County police officers responded to an incident at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda Friday afternoon, February 23, 2024. At least one individual was accused of also possessing a synthetic narcotic, and drug paraphernalia. The shoplifting incident was reported at the mall at 4:27 PM Friday.

Several in Custody Following Shots Fired and Hit and Run Saturday Evening
The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) responded to the 4100 block of Garrett Park Rd. in Silver Spring for the sound of shots at approximately 5:30pm on Saturday evening. Police tell us that upon arrival officers observed a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed and spoke to multiple witnesses who observed a male shooting a firearm into the woods.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. - Montgomery County police continue to investigate an early morning armed robbery. Police responded to the area of the 8200 block of Georgia Avenue for the report of an armed robbery around 3 a.m. on Saturday morning. According to police, four suspects, two armed with firearms, approached an adult male victim and demanded property. While this was occurring, a group of unknown suspects approached the scene of the crime and began to shoot in the direction of the suspects.

During the last week, a total of 26 crime cases were reported in Herndon. The most common type of crime was classified as 'Other', with 9 cases, which included instances of police service and disorderly conduct. This was followed by 'Argument' related incidents with 5 cases, 'Assault' and 'Theft' each with 3 cases. There were also 2 cases each of 'Arrest' and 'Vandalism'. The least frequent crimes were 'Trespass' and 'Suspicious Situation', each with just a single case.
