Budget airline will offer flights from Bangor to 3 Florida cities

Snowbirds in northern and eastern Maine won’t have to travel as far to find wallet-friendly flights to Florida this winter.

Breeze Airways will offer flights from Bangor International Airport to Orlando International Airport on Thursdays and Sundays, starting Oct. 3, and flights to Tampa on Mondays and Fridays, starting Oct. 4, the airline announced Tuesday morning.

It also will offer seasonal flights to Fort Myers on Wednesdays and Saturdays, starting on Oct. 5.

“We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to Breeze Airways as they join the ranks of airlines serving Bangor International Airport,” said the airport’s director, Jose Saavedra.

Breeze Airways isn’t a stranger to Maine’s airports. It also offers flights to Fort Myers , Orlando and Tampa out of Portland International Jetport, where its destinations include Charleston, South Carolina; Pittsburgh; Norfolk, Virginia; and soon Raleigh-Durham , North Carolina, among others.
