KGET wins 4 Regional Murrow Awards

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — KGET has won four Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, the Radio Television Digital News Association announced Tuesday.

17 News was recognized by the organization winning awards for Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for “Reparations: Let’s Talk About It” ; Excellence in Writing for “The Blade” ; Newscast for coverage of the guilty verdicts for Jacqueline and Trezell West in the death of one of their adopted sons; and Overall Excellence.

RTDNA has been honoring broadcast and digital journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Award since 1971. The award is one of the most prestigious in journalism and honors the winning outlet’s entire newsroom and not individual journalists.

KGET was recognized in 2020 and 2022 with National Edward R. Murrow Awards.
