Bainbridge City Manager Chris Hobby has resigned from his position, effective immediately. The decision was made public in a statement from Bainbridge Mayor Edward Reynolds released by the City on Friday, May 3.

“The City respects his decision and expresses deep gratitude for his unwavering dedication and the considerable contributions he has made throughout his tenure,” Reynolds wrote in the statement.

Assistant City Manager Roy Oliver will act as interim City Manager as the City looks to fill the vacancy.

“Roy has been a pivotal member of our team and will now oversee City operations until a permanent City Manager is appointed,” Reynolds said. “His proven leadership and familiarity with the City’s strategic goals assure us that he is well-prepared to lead during this transition.”

The City of Bainbridge has requested the “community’s full support and cooperation” during this transitional period.

“The City extends its heartfelt thanks to Chris Hobby for his service and dedication,” Reynolds said. “We sincerely wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
