HARRISTOWN NEWS: Saint Luke to have Family and Friends Day

Do you hear what I hear? Yes, that constant humming that can be heard everywhere you turn. The cicadas have taken over. Run for the hills! Never mind. They’re probably there to. I’ll be glad when the infestation is over.

You are invited to attend Family and Friends Day, at Saint Luke Church, on May 26 at 11 a.m.

The keynote speaker will be Elder Jeffrey Gambrell, of God’s Deliverance Church, Raeford. Your presence will be appreciated.

Bishop Chenner Smith is the host pastor.

Shiloh Baptist Church will host a Women’s Day Brunch on May 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The theme is “Woman of God, Know Your Worth.”

The guest speaker will be Evangelist Mary Smith. Come wearing your “Sunday Best” and church hat.

Rev. Parnell Kelly is the host pastor.

Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Badin, will have its annual Women’s Prayer Breakfast on May 18 at 10 a.m.

Guest speaker will be Pastor Samantha Bowden, of Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Breakfast will be served after service.

Contact Brenda Lilly for breakfast tickets. There is a $15 donation.

Call to Pray meets the first and third Thursdays at Shiloh Baptist Church, at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome.

Community Interests

The Friends of E.E. Waddell Center will sponsor the Annual Community Grillmaster Showdown 12-3 p.m. June 1.
Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Entry fee is $15 to sample all you want.
Featured delicacies include ribs, chicken, Boston butt and grill’s choice. Festivities include DJ, karaoke, hot chip contest, raffle and cornhole.
