In 1955 the Woods family came to Babbitt in December to begin their lives in mining. Debra would turn 1 the following month in January. In the same year sometime after the birth of their son, the Andersons (Glenn)movedtoBabbittwiththeir 3 daughters.As small towns would have it knowing everyone, years later boy meets girl (high school). Long story short on Saturday, May 11, 1974 they were married. On May 11, 2024 Debra and Glenn Anderson will be married 50 years. It was at the Evangelical Church in Babbitt, and they lived happily ever after. The End.
Driver unhurt in semi rollover
The Virginia Fire Department was dispatched Thursday morning to a semi tractor trailer rollover on U.S. Highway 53, just south of the Rukavina Bridge, according to the Friends of the Northland FireWire Facebook page. The driver of the truck was not injured. The incident was reported around 10:20 a.m. in the southbound lane. Traffic in the southbound lanes was reduced to one lane. Clean up at the site of the crash lasted for more than five hours. The Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota Department of Transportation,Virginia Police, and the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department assisted with traffic control at the scene.
