Roofing Work Causes Fire, $50K In Damage To Wildwood Home: Firefighters
A fire broke out at a Cape May County home about four blocks from the beachfront, officials said. Wildwood firefighters responded to the house on the 100 block of East Roberts Avenue at around 3:36 on Wednesday, May 22, the department said in a Facebook post. The first crew on the scene saw smoke coming from the back and roof of the two-story home.

The New Jersey shore town of Wildwood closed its popular boardwalk for a few hours early Sunday after hordes of “unruly, undisciplined” teens descended on the walkway, local officials said. Police shut the boardwalk to the public just past midnight after receiving an “irrepressible number” of complaints about an “extremely large number of young adults & juveniles” visiting the site for Memorial Day weekend, according to a statement from authorities.
