    Two arrested by RCSO after drug bust in connection to Augusta Mall shooting investigation

    RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – Two people have been arrested by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office after a drug bust in connection to the investigation of the Augusta Mall shooting.

    According to authorities, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Augusta Mall on Sunday, April 28th at 1:43 P.M. in reference to shots fired, and during the course of the investigation, the Criminal Investigation Division, along with Violent Crimes, Narcotics and the Gang Unit, worked to locate and arrest the subjects involved in the shooting.

    Authorities state that on Tuesday, April 30th, a search warrant was executed on a residence on Webster Drive in Augusta, and the search warrant led to the seizure of approximately 3.6 kilograms of Fentanyl, 17.82 ounces of Cocaine, 12.24 ounces of Marijuana, 7 firearms (3-reported stolen), 1 vehicle, and $1,766.

    According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, Jerry “Jaybo” Jackson was arrested for Unlawful Criminal Street Gang Activity, Trafficking Fentanyl, Trafficking Cocaine, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime, and Victoria Griffin was arrested for Trafficking Fentanyl, Trafficking Cocaine, (2-counts) Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.

    Investigators state that during the course of the investigation, “it became apparent this residence was a safe haven and drug distribution location for members of the dangerous criminal street gang LOE (Loyalty Over Everything).”
