Herner to serve 1-5 years for animal cruelty, 7 years probation to follow; Crouch remanded for execution of sentence
HARRISVILLE, W.Va. — Third Judicial Judge Tim Sweeney presided over a variety of hearings during Ritchie County Circuit Court on May 22, including two remandings. Nikki L. Herner, 36, Auburn, was the first to be remanded to serve one to five years on a charge of cruelty to animals.

PENNSBORO, W.Va. — Two Pennsboro residents asked Mayor Robert Riggs and Pennsboro Council for help with a culvert issue when the group met on May 20. The couple said a trench coming onto their property is causing problems and “they are two good rains away” from facing a more significant issue.
