New Paris Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony schedule
NEW PARIS, Ind. - The New Paris Chamber of Commerce and the New Paris Boy Scouts, Troop 12, will host the annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony on Sunday, May 26. The parade will start at 2 p.m., from Main and Market Streets and will proceed to the New Paris/Jackson Township Cemetery.
Board Of Works Awards Street Projects Bids
Bids for two street projects were awarded Friday at the Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety meeting. The bids were opened at the board’s May 3 meeting. For the Frontage Road and Lake Village Lane project, three sealed bids were received. Street Superintendent Dustin Dillon said the Frontage Road portion was a 50/50 Community Crossings Matching Grant project, with the state awarding $184,277.50 in funding toward it. He said the bid came in well below the projected cost and recommended the board award it to Phend & Brown Inc. at $193,353.16. For the mandatory alternate portion of the project - Lake Village Lane - which will be paid 100% with local funds, he also recommended Phend & Brown be awarded that at $166,308.08.
Some Voters Received The Wrong Ballots In Primary Election
Human error led to some voters in the May primary election receiving the wrong ballot. Ann Torpy, Kosciusko County clerk for the Superior and Circuit Courts, explained that when a pollworker at Community Life Center, 825 N. Harrison St., Warsaw, activated the voting machine, the pollworker gave 104 voters the same ballot, not giving them the ballot for where they live.

Residents Air Concerns About Speeding In Etna Green
ETNA GREEN — Multiple residents shared concerns over speeding and the placement of a four-way stop sign and speeding in town. Warsaw FFA Competes In State Horse & Pony Judging Competition
Warsaw FFA recently competed in the Indiana 4-H/FFA State Career Development Events (CDEs) for the FFA Horse and Pony Judging CDE. Students that participated in the Horse and Pony Judging CDE had to learn principles of horse and pony selection and evaluation and to develop the ability to make sound decisions based on observations and to defend these decisions verbally. Students were also able to appraise horses and ponies visually as a part of a sound breeding and management program as well as a means of evaluation in horse shows and contests.

ATWOOD – Pastor David Banning celebrated Mother’s Day with a message reminding the congregation that Jesus looked down from the cross with love and made sure His mother would be taken care of after He was gone. The congregation was encouraged to follow Jesus’ example of love for our own mothers. He continued describing precious gifts we have enjoyed watching generations of our families grow up in our congregation under the comforting love of their mothers. He shared he sees love painted on all our faces, reflecting the love our members have for one another as well. What’s Happening On Lake Tippecanoe
The Lake Tippecanoe Property Owners (LTPO) will host several events over the summer. The public is invited. On June 15, there will be a fish and chicken fry. This fundraiser is being held at Camp Crosley from 5 to 8 p.m. or until sold out. At T1A Lane, there will be an all-you-can-eat dine-in opportunity with live entertainment. The cost is $15 per person. Children 5 and under are free. If carry-out is your choice, T1A Lane is where you will want to go. Just pull up and receive your meal of fish and chicken. For an extra cost, desserts will be available at both locations, according to a news release from the LTPO.
