Michael Penix Jr. is Trending After Kirk Cousins Video Goes Viral

Kirk Cousins won't give up easy on his starting quarterback job with the Atlanta Falcons.

On Thursday, Cousins took the field for voluntary offseason workouts with his new team — giving NFL fans the first look at him in action since his torn Achilles injury.

Cousins looked great in the viral clip, dropping back and delivering a perfect spiral to new wide receiver addition Darnell Mooney.

Despite signing Cousins on a massive free-agent contract earlier this offseason, the Falcons decided to shock the NFL world by selecting rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. with the No. 8 overall pick in this year's draft.

Penix's name is trending on social media following this viral clip of Cousins.

"Drafting PENIX done lit a fire under cousins bro," one fan wrote.

"Penix will have the job by year 2," another said.

"Kirk Cousins watching Michael Penix Jr. take some reps," another added.

Cousins, 35, signed a four-year contract worth $180 million with the Falcons earlier this offseason. These facts made it all the more shocking when the franchise added Penix Jr. to the QB room with their first pick in the draft.

Cousins will no doubt start the 2024 season as the Falcons' QB1, but he certainly has some added pressure with Penix Jr. on the roster.
