Concord University holds 149th Spring Commencement

ATHENS, WV (WVNS) — Concord University held its 149th Spring Commencement over this past weekend in the Main Gym of the Leslie R. and Ruby Webb Carter Center.

Masters degree candidates were celebrated on May 3, and undergraduates were honored on May 4. Nine valedictorians were noted in this graduating class, including Julianna A. Brown, Cailyn L. Butler, Holly Marie Graham, Gabriella Marie Gray, Jared Edward Grubb, Sarah Victoria Linkous, Jami Nichole Rust, Sahar Saramani, and Andrew C. Trump.

Areas outside of West Virginia were represented by the graduates, with candidates originating from Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Maryland, Maine, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and even Washington, D.C.

Among the more than 300 candidates meeting graduation requirements, 94 are master’s degree candidates and 213 are undergraduate degree candidates. Six of these graduates are veterans, sex are employees of the university, and two are international students.
