Opening Delayed

On Friday, Memorial Health System (MHS) announced the delay of the opening of its Athens Medical Campus Emergency Department to June 13. The open house scheduled from 5-7 p.m. May 29 will go on as scheduled.

The facility is at 206 Columbus Road, Athens.

Boil order

NELSONVILLE — The Nelsonville Water Department has issued a boil order for all customers on Walnut Street from Second Street to Burr Oak Boulevard, until noon Saturday. This boil order is necessary due to a tie-in for a new water line.

When a boil order is in effect, we ask all who are affected to boil their cooking and drinking water for three minutes before being consumed.

No Putt Putt

Putt People First, a miniature golf course located at the Ridges that raises funds for Havar Inc., announced that it will not open this summer due to the sale of the park property and other factors.

The City of Athens sold the property to the Ridges New Community Authority to help development in the area.
