Representative Mike Collins (GA-10) congratulated three Oconee County residents for earning appointments to America’s Service Academies. During a signing ceremony at Westminster Christian Academy, Eli Bates accepted an offer of appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, where he will proudly join the Midshipmen Swim Team.

That same day during a joint ceremony at Athens Academy, Cohen Tomlinson also accepted an offer of appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy, and Noah Prior accepted an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York. Noah will proudly play NCAA Division 1 Football for the Army Black Knights.

These young men will enter their respective academies in June 2024 and upon graduation will become commissioned officers in the United States Armed Forces.
