$5.2 million grant to fund full-service marina at Lock 27 in Proctorville
PROCTORVILLE, Ohio (WSAZ) - The location of the old Lock and Dam 27 is a scenic access point to the Ohio River. Local leaders have maintained the property but have envisioned long-term plans that would need proper funding. Last week, Governor Mike DeWine announced a $5.2 million grant that will pay for a full-service marina at Lock 27.
Gallia County man 'found safe' by deputies following search
GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WCHS) — UPDATED - 5:00 p.m., 5/11/24. Deputies have located the Gallia County man who went missing Saturday morning. Howard Moore, 86, was found at about 4:30 p.m. and is reportedly doing well following a search after a missing persons report was issued earlier in the day, according to a post from the sheriff's office.

NITRO, WV (WOWK) – A crash on I-64 West shut down one lane of westbound traffic Thursday afternoon. According to Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatchers, the crash happened around 5:35 p.m. Thursday at the Nitro entrance ramp of I-64W. Dispatchers say three vehicles were involved. MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A man has been charged after the Mason County Sheriff’s Office said he attempted to meet up with a minor to engage in sexual activity. HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Some viewers in our region are capturing some amazing photos of the Northern Lights on this Friday night. Chief meteorologist Tony Cavalier said Friday and Saturday nights will be the best times to see the aurora borealis -- typically visible from only the far northern latitudes. He said one of the strongest solar flares from the sun’s surface is responsible for the dazzling show. Cavalier said the solar flare is streaming solar debris across the distant outer space environment, creating a spectacle near both of Earth’s poles.
