Downtown Mansfield awash with color during annual beautification effort Tuesday
MANSFIELD — Jennifer Kime stood at the corner of Fourth and Main streets Tuesday morning and looked around at a swarm of activity before 10 a.m. The annual Downtown Beautification Day — a public-private-volunteer partnership — was already underway and will conclude with the 28th annual Operation Clean Sweep late Tuesday afternoon.

Church services Sunday were hosted at sister Emma’s place for her son, Benjamin, and Crystal. It was Benjamin’s 22nd birthday as well as Mother’s Day. The men washed the dishes so the women could sit and visit after lunch in honor of Mother’s Day. Cupcakes and ice cream were served to everyone with lunch in honor of Mother’s Day and Benjamin’s birthday. Also on the menu were homemade wheat and white bread, ham, three different kinds of cheese, peanut butter spread, pickles, red beets, hot peppers, jam, butter, coffee and iced tea.
Pollock Goes To Track Nationals
Leslie Pollock, a red shirt freshman at Ashland University, will be going to the National Track meet in Emporia, KS this week. Leslie is 11th in the nation in the hammer throw in Division II. She will be throwing Thursday, May 23rd. Leslie is a 2022 graduate from Antwerp Local Schools. She is the daughter of Tam and Terry Pollock.

Reseigh's grand slam helps SVSU defeat Ashland, win first NCAA regional in school history
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. (WJRT) - Saginaw Valley State's Jeff Reseigh hit a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth inning to help propel the Cardinals to victory against Ashland, 11-7.
