KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash early Wednesday morning in Archie, Missouri.

According to police, at 4:45 a.m., deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash near 307th Street going northbound on Interstate 49.

Officers said they made contact with a driver who had been rear-ended by someone. The driver said that after getting hit, he continued driving about a quarter-mile to get to a safer spot. He claims to have never seen the person who hit him.

The car that left the scene was a tan 2002 Chevrolet Blazer registered to a man from Blue Springs, according to police.

Officers found the Blazer parked on the shoulder of the highway near the crash without the driver in it. Deputies searched the area and when they couldn’t find the driver, they sent out a notification to surrounding areas to notify residents.

The Blazer has been towed and officers are still looking for the driver in order to determine their current state of well-being.
