North Carolina Zoo is helping to bring red wolves back from the brink of extinction
ASHEBORO, N.C. — This past Easter, the North Carolina Zoo welcomed four red wolf pups into their pack. “We've had red wolves at the zoo for going on 20, 25 years now. But the breeding program was started around 15 years ago, I believe, when we built five additional pens behind the scenes," said Animal Managment Supervisor, Curtis Malott.

Library hosts 1st Children’s Book Author Expo
HIGH POINT — Several local children’s book authors recently converged on the High Point Public Library for meet-and-greets, storytime readings and more. The library’s first Children’s Book Author Expo on May 11 included a dozen local authors in a free event that also featured children’s activities including interactive readings, games with prizes, song and dance, and more.
10th Annual Canine Capers
A record number of pups and their beloved humans showed up for the 10th annual Canine Capers, held on Saturday, April 27, at Oak Ridge Town Park. Featuring dog contests and dog-gone fun activities along with an array of vendors and both longtime and first-time sponsors, the fundraiser brought in over $5,400, which will be divided among participating animal rescues.
