Five golfers place in Top 10 at Indiana Women’s Golf Association State Amateur Championship
Five Hamilton County golfers reached the top 10 of the Indiana Women’s Golf Association State Amateur Championship, which took place this week at The Players Club in Muncie. The three-day, 54-hole event ran from July 22 to 24 at the Woodland Trails course. Westfield’s Samantha Brown was the county’s top finisher, placing fourth with a five under par score of 211.

Funds for Westfield sidewalk project increased
The Hamilton County Board of Commissioners approved an amended funding agreement for sidewalk installation in Westfield during their July 8 meeting. The funds are part of the city’s 2022 project year Community Development Block Grant disbursement from the Noblesville Housing Authority, which administers and provides housing and community development services for all of Hamilton County.
Westfield veteran calls for change to property tax law
A Westfield veteran has started a grassroots campaign to lobby elected leaders at the state level to increase the property tax deduction for veterans in Indiana. Mike Madigan served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam. An Illinois native who lived in Wisconsin before moving to Indiana in 2020, Madigan said when he moved to Westfield, he was surprised to find the property tax exemption in the Hoosier State is far different from what was available in Wisconsin.
Nonprofit offers new affordable housing development in Fishers
A Hamilton County nonprofit that focuses on housing needs for low- to moderate-income residents is making another small dent in the county’s big lack of affordable housing. HAND, Inc., which stands for Hamilton County Area Neighborhood Development, is almost ready to open Cumberland Cottages, its newest housing development at the corner of Cumberland Road and 141st Street in Fishers, with an open house set for Aug. 1.

Noblesville Lions award fifth scholarship

Bastian Solutions breaks ground on $165 million corporate and manufacturing facility in Indiana
Bastian Solutions has begun construction on a new manufacturing plant in Noblesville, Indiana. The company, which is a Toyota Automated Logistics company, will use the 164-acre campus as its corporate headquarters as well as for manufacturing operations. Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO), Bastian's parent company, will invest $165 million into the project.
