Wisconsin election officials voted Thursday to provide more details to voters than normal to avoid confusion about a ballot that will have both a special and regular election for a vacant congressional seat.The rare anomaly for the 8th Congressional District is due to the timing of former U.S. Rep. Mike Gallagher's surprise resignation. Here's what to expect at the second Light the Night Market
APPLETON - The Light the Night Market presented by Fox Communities Credit Union is returning a second year after its successful debut in May 2023. The event will take place on three seperate days, May 17, July 19 and a holiday edition on November 16 according to Appleton Downtown, Inc. (ADI). Jeremy Haney, a former police officer in Appleton, Wisconsin, has pleaded no contest to felony misconduct in public office for falsifying information in a report. Haney forged the signatures of a prosecutor and a judge on paperwork to authorize placing a tracking device on a suspect's vehicle as part of a drug investigation. An assistant district attorney spotted the discrepancy when he was reviewing the documents and realized they were not the ones he signed. Haney claimed that he lost the original paperwork, so he reprinted it and forged the signatures. He will receive no jail time but will have to pay fines and fees totaling more than $1,000.
