Conjuring customers: New Fort Worth Voodoo brewery opens Saturday
David Goldblatt, a 21-year U.S. Marine Corps veteran, starts his new job as a Fort Worth brewery owner this weekend. Goldblatt, who was stationed at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth before his recent retirement, is opening Voodoo Brewing Co. at 1001 S. Main St. in Fort Worth Saturday. It will be the brewery’s fourth Texas location, following openings in Katy, Plano and Grand Prairie.

FORT WORTH, Texas — The Tarrant Area Food Bank received a $32,000 grant from the Morgan Stanley Foundation to support its Ready to Learn program ahead of the school year. The Ready to Learn program is a children-focused initiative for education through the expansion of in-school food pantries, targeted kids' programming and the construction of a kid-friendly market at TAFB where families can receive groceries.
Fort Worth lost a $300K veterans grant. Here’s how the city can replace the funds
For the first time since 2018, the city of Fort Worth did not receive a $300,000 grant from the state that annually funds one of its veterans assistance programs. The loss means that Fort Worth’s Healthy Homes for Heroes program, which provides home modifications to veterans living in Fort Worth, does not have existing funding for the upcoming year. City leaders are working on plans to fill the gap.

Brock would finish that freshman campaign with 32 tackles, earning Second Team Freshman All-American honors.

TCU baseball head coach Kirk Saarloos has announced the addition of Jake Silverman to the baseball program.Silverman joins the staff as the Director of Program Development. For the past two seasons, Silverman served as the associate head coach at Washington. During his tenure with the Huskies went 54-50-1. He was a big part of the Huskies recruiting efforts, he enticed two players to campus despite being drafted as well as the No. 3-ranked prep recruit in the state of Washington.

Three-time National Champion South Carolina women's basketball will travel to Fort Worth, Texas, for the USLBM Coast to Coast Challenge featuring the Hoopfest Women's Basketball Classic at Dickies Arena. The Gamecocks will face off against TCU on Sun., Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. ET on an ESPN network. It will be the first meeting between the two programs.
North Texas elementary school names new principal after previous leader's sudden passing
FORT WORTH, Texas — A North Texas elementary school has hired a new principal after the sudden death of Leigh Anne Romer earlier this month, school officials announced. Edwina West-Dukes, who was previously a principal in the Keller school district, is replacing Romer at J.C. Thompson Elementary School in the Northwest Independent School District, officials said. Romer served as the principal for 12 years before her sudden passing on July 7.
Missing Person's Vehicle Found in Jack County, Search Underway
JACKSBORO, Texas — Authorities are searching for a missing Fort Worth man after his vehicle was discovered in Jack County. A Jack County Sheriff's Deputy received a call this morning about a suspicious vehicle parked off Coca Cola Ranch Road. Upon running the license plate, it was found to be connected to a missing persons case out of Fort Worth, according to the Jack County Sheriff's Office.
Fort Worth police assist in bomb threat incident leading to arrest
FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth Police officers collaborated with Lake Worth Police to manage traffic and ensure public safety during a bomb threat incident on Tuesday. Lake Worth Police Department arrested 43-year-old Donald Scott, of Lake Worth, Texas, for making a terroristic threat and retaliation, both felonies. Scott, currently on federal probation for bank robbery with two prior convictions for unlawful carrying of a weapon, was tracked down after a parole officer reported he might be carrying explosives into Walmart.
