Denard Robinson has lost his job with Michigan after his arrest last month on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI).

MLive.com’s Aaron McMann reported Tuesday that they were told Robinson no longer has a job with Michigan’s athletic department. Michigan would not say whether Robinson had been fired or resigned.

Robinson was arrested on suspicion of OWI after crashing his car in the early morning hours on April 15. The 33-year-old Robinson was suspended indefinitely by Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore and has since lost his job.

Robinson was hired by Michigan in 2022 to serve as their assistant director of player personnel and had worked in that capacity for two years. He is best known for his time as Michigan’s quarterback from 2009-2012. He became famous for playing with his shoelaces untied, earning him the nickname “Shoelace.”

Robinson is the second Michigan coach to be arrested for OWI this offseason. The arrests cost both coaches their jobs.
