ANN ARBOR (WWJ) — An investigation is underway after someone fired multiple shots at a home in Ann Arbor early Monday morning.

Ann Arbor police officials say while none of the five people inside the home were injured in what appeared to be a targeted shooting, multiple other homes in the neighborhood were hit by gunfire.

It all unfolded around 1 a.m. Monday, May 6, according to Ann Arbor police officials. When officers showed up to the 1500 block of Marlborough Drive — near Packard Street and Stadium Boulevard — they found several shell casings in the street.

Investigators believe a person or multiple people in a car fired several shots into a home on Marlborough. While Ann Arbor police do not believe the shooting was random, a motive is not yet known.

Authorities say five people — including three minors — were inside the home at the time of the shooting. None of them were injured. Other homes in the area were hit by gunfire, but no injuries in those homes were reported.

Ann Arbor police are working to develop information about the suspect and are asking neighbors with doorbell cameras or other security systems to come forward.

"Gun violence at any level is unacceptable in our community,” Ann Arbor Police Chief Andre Anderson said, per a press release. “We are very fortunate that this incident didn't result in serious injuries. The department is actively putting resources together to address what happened."

Officials are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or knows something about it to call the Ann Arbor Police Department at 734-794-6920.
