Man shot while driving in Ann Arbor, police searching for suspect

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) -- Ann Arbor Police are investigating a shooting that injured one person overnight.

Police said the shooting happened around 1:45 a.m. Friday, in the area of Washtenaw Avenue and Huron Parkway.

A 32-year-old man was driving, in the 300 block of Washtenaw, when he was hit by gunfire. He took himself to University Michigan Hospital for treatment.

Police said the man's injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

At this time, investigators do not believe this was a random shooting. However, police did not say why they believe the victim was targeted.

Police are currently working to gather information about the suspect. More details were expected to be released later Friday.
