Woodberry (Va.) Forest blue-chipper Savion Hiter visited Michigan earlier this month and the Wolverines made a major impression the On3 Industry’s No. 1 ranked class-of-2026 running back.

“My visit to Michigan was even better than I expected!” Hiter stated. “Everyone was so welcoming and the campus was really nice.”

The defending National Champs become one of the front runners in a recruitment that also includes Clemson, Georgia, Penn State and Ohio State.

“I learned a lot in the short time I was there,” Hiter said. He has a great relationship with running backs coach Tony Alford. “Literally everybody I came in contact with gave me an in depth talk about the school the culture, the team and their role there.”

The 5-foot-11, 199-pound Hiter knows the Michigan environment is one he could thrive in.

“It was crazy to see how organized everything is and how they hold everyone accountable,” Hiter said. “I had so many takeaways it’s hard to narrow it down to just a few.”

The On3 Industry ranks Hiter as the No. 1 prospect in Virginia and No. 26 prospect overall.

As a sophomore, Hiter rushed for 1,060 yards and 10 touchdowns. He added another 91 yards receiving and a score.

Hiter begins spring practice soon and he also wants to get out and see more schools.

“Trying to fit a few visits in between to Tennessee, Penn State, Syracuse and Virginia Tech,” Hiter said, adding he’s also trying to reschedule a return trip to Ohio State.
