The complaint was filed this week with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights.

According to the complaint — since the events on October 7th, Jewish students at UMass have faced a number of anti-semitic incidents, including genocidal chants, slurs, and threats.

The ADL said one student was also the victim of a violent assault. The complaint comes after a week-long pro-Palestinian protest on campus. In a statement to 22News–a spokesperson for UMass said quote–“UMass Amherst has not received any notification that OCR is investigating this complaint.”

The University will cooperate fully with the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights, should it decide to open an investigation.”
