Schriever women arrested after becoming verbally and physically combative with Deputies at Houma business
Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of two Schriever women on charges, stemming from a disturbance investigated by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division. Antoinette Lanay Miller, 28, of Schriever and Janay Recole Smith, 36, of Schriever, were arrested for multiple criminal offenses as a result of their involvement in the investigation.

The arrest took place during a traffic stop on U.S. 90 on a Saturday evening. A patrol deputy stopped a vehicle due to an equipment violation and spoke with the driver, Candon Patrick Jefferson, 33. The deputy noticed a suspected marijuana odor from the vehicle.

Patterson Garden Club members Evelyn Estay, Donna Bates-Ruffin, Linda Thomas and Iris Roy joined the staff of the City of Patterson for a veterans program on Nov. 9. Wreaths were placed at the Blue Star Marker on the highway and the Byway marker at City Hall in honor of all veterans. This is the National Garden Club tradition.
