    Texas Route 66 Festival returns to Amarillo June 6-15, # 7 ranked new festival as per USA Today

    AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Visit Amarillo announced that the “Texas Route 66 Festival” will return to Amarillo from June 6 through 15 with festivities along Route 66.

    According to a Visit Amarillo press release, this 10 day event will feature live music, classic car shows, exclusive bus tours, a cattle drive and a parade to compete the festival.

    “The Texas 66 Festival uniquely blends the best of Route 66 and Texas,” said Kashion Smith, executive director of Visit Amarillo. “From the iconic car shows to the cattle drive and rodeo, this event truly captures the spirit and heritage of both the historic route and our great state.”

    Event Highlights:

    • Classic Car Shows: Featuring beautifully restored vintage vehicles.
    • Exclusive Bus Tours: Exploring historic sites and hidden gems along Texas 66.
    • Cattle Drive & Parade: A tribute to Texas’ rich ranching heritage.
    • Festival Finale: A spectacular grand finale on June 15 in Amarillo’s Route 66 Historic District.

    The release added that the festival was recently ranked number seven in USA Today’s Best New Festivals of the Year.
