High School Baseball: Amarillo High's Clayton Norrell named 3-5A MVP

Amarillo High jump Clayton Norrell was named the District 3-5A Most Valuable Player as district awards were released this past weekend.

Norrell was joined on the list of district superlatives by three other Sandies on the superlative list. Amarillo High's Mello Castillo was Co-Defensive MVP for the district along with Plainview's Mateo Hernandez, and Jimmy Escajeda was Newcomer of the Year. Sandies senior Payne Williams was co-Pitcher of the Year with Caprock's Matthew Hulen.

Amarillo High coach Randon Johnson was named Coach of the Year.
