Good Saturday morning, everyone!

We are starting out clear and cool with lows around 50. As the day unfolds, a mostly sunny sky is expected with increasing southwest winds of 15 to 35 mph. Temperatures will respond, warming back into the upper 70’s to mid-80’s this afternoon. Amarillo should top out near 82. Tomorrow could be slightly cooler, but a beautiful day with light southwest winds of 5 to 15 mph, and highs in the 70’s. The upper 70’s and low 80’s looks possible for Monday, while the mid to upper 80’s will be prevalent on Tuesday, our last day of April.

Regarding precipitation, as of this writing, a slight chance of thunderstorms will be possible along our eastern border with Western Oklahoma this afternoon and early evening. Any storm that forms may pulse strong to marginally severe with pockets of hail, high winds, and brief heavy downpours. Please stay weather aware if a thunderstorm is near your location. Seek substantial shelter, until it moves away. No storms are expected for Amarillo through Tuesday.

Have a safe and enjoyable weekend, everyone!
