ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — A crash in the city led to the finding of drugs, a handgun without a serial number and charges against an Altoona woman, police said.

Emily Rae Huber, 21, was arraigned Wednesday morning after a crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23 at the intersection of 11th Street and 7th Avenue.

Altoona police responded to the crash where the driver of a second vehicle, and a witness, said Huber failed to stop at a stop sign and hit the vehicle, according to the criminal complaint. While Huber was being put in an ambulance, she requested her purse from her car. Police said they looked for identification in the purse when they noticed a handgun that had a phrase stamped on the grip, where they believe the serial number should have been.

Police said the white powder tested positive for methamphetamine.

Huber was discharged from UPMC and taken to the Altoona police station. Police noted that she does not have a concealed carry permit.
