The National Weather Service out of Pittsburgh is confirming another tornado touchdown overnight, this one in Allegheny County

A meteorologist with the NWS tells KDKA Radio they investigated and confirmed an EF1 tornado did some damage in North Fayette Township near Aten Road. That is right near the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott.

The National Weather Service says Duquesne Light crews were on the scene when they arrived on Wednesday.

The tornado didn’t last long with it breaking up before it was able to cross the Parkway West in the Robinson/North Fayette area.

Another tornado was confirmed to be an EF1 in the Ligonier area.

A tornado also touched down in the Jefferson/Irondale area in Ohio and another one in Fairhaven, West Virginia. Those tornados have not been officially graded, but are expected to be EF2 or higher.

Crews are also out inspecting a possible tornado touchdown in Beaver County. More information should be available on Thursday.

Lightning may have sparked a fire at a home near a golf course in Westmoreland County.

A little before 3:30 this morning, a fire was reported in Unity Township.

No injuries were reported by firefighters were on the scene for an extended period of time.

Local firefighters said a lightning strike may have sparked the fire but the fire marshal will determine the official cause.

The severe weather has moved on with temperatures in the 80s Wednesday. It will cool down with temps on the mid-to-low 60s going into the weekend with rain chances Thursday through Saturday.
