Froid/Lake’s boys struck for 60 points to capture fourth-place honors in the team standings at the Fairview Invitational on Wednesday, May 1. Mason Dethman was a double-winner with a time of 12.22 seconds in the 100 and 24.16 seconds in the 200. The senior placed second in the shot put at 42-11.
Williston Wins First Girls Tennis Dual Of ’24, Stopping Jamestown
JAMESTOWN – Williston kept Jamestown winless in girls tennis with a 9-0 dual win Thursday at Bolinger Courts. Number five singles player Kate Redfearn of the Blue Jays forced a second set tiebreak, but all nine matches ended in straight set wins for Williston, who improved to 1-5 in WDA duals. Jamestown is 0-10 and 0-6 in the WDA.
TrainND Foundation offering pair of CDL training scholarships
WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) - The TrainND Foundation in Williston is offering two scholarships to help people interested in obtaining their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). The $4,000 scholarships are for TrainND Northwest’s four-week CDL training course, which is offered in Williston, Dickinson and Minot. It can also be used for their Fast Track CDL Training.

WILLISTON – A win salvaged the day after a tough first game loss for Jamestown. Blue Jay Softball split on Saturday at Williston, with the Coyotes winning the opener 5-4 before Jamestown won the second game 7-5 at the Western Star Softball Complex. Game 1: Williston 5, Jamestown 4.
Williston man who ran from, shot at police gets 15 years in federal prison
A Williston man, who ran from and shot at police officers in 2022, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possessing a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.
Three Bainville Athletes Place First At Wolf Point
The Bainville Bulldogs came away with three firstplace awards during the Gene Nelson Memorial Invitational track meet held in Wolf Point on Friday, May 3. Elsie Wilson was a double- winner for Bainville’s girls. The junior finished first in the 100-meter dash at 13.78 seconds and first in the 300-meter hurdles at 50.27 seconds. Wilson also took third in the triple jump with a mark of 30-11 and fourth in the long jump with a mark of 15-3.

WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) - A selection committee has completed their scoring rubrics towards choosing a Construction Manager At Risk for the new Williston Elementary. Three proposals were offered to the Williston Basin School District for the position from JE Dunn, Kraus-Anderson, and Adolfson & Peterson. During a hearing on April 30, members of the committee say all three are very reputable, but credited JE Dunn for having fewer fees and expenses.

Anglers snagging big paddlefish to start season
WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) - Several anglers had already claimed their paddlefish tags as the harvest season began Wednesday morning. Hundreds of people are out at the Yellowstone-Missouri Confluence looking to reel in their annual fish. As of 9 a.m., nearly 20 fish were harvested with the largest so far weighing in at 117 pounds.
