Man heads to trial accused of killing passenger in drunken driving crash
CALHOUN COUNTY, MI – A Portage man accused of killing his passenger in a drunken driving crash is heading to trial. The case against Deandre Markese Alexander was sent May 6 to Calhoun County Circuit Court. Alexander, 39, is charged with one felony count of operating under the influence causing death following his preliminary examination in Calhoun County District Court, records show.

JACKSON, MI – A Jackson man was arrested Friday after trying to flee a domestic dispute while drunk and crashing not far from the home. Police were called at about 2 a.m. May 10 to a home in the 500 block of South Gorham Street for a report of a domestic dispute in progress, according to the Jackson Police Department.
Wanted man found with bomb in car pleads guilty to drug, weapon charges
HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI – A wanted man found with a pipe bomb in his car will not be going to trial. Arriving to his first court appearance in the Hillsdale County Circuit Court Monday, May 6, Joseph Michael Lazarus pleaded guilty to two of six felony charges, canceling any further trial proceedings, court records show.
