    Albany man pleads guilty to manslaughter

    ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — An Albany man pleaded guilty to manslaughter Friday morning. Dario Lewis, 32, admitted he tried causing significant injury to Elijah Thompson in November 2023.

    According to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office, Lewis was in the area of 22 Judson Street in Albany on November 11, when at 3 a.m. when Elijah Thompson died. Law enforcement says he is accused of having an illegal, loaded, and operable firearm on the same day, as well as November 20.

    Lewis pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder on December 6, 2023. Lewis is scheduled to be sentenced on July 15. He faces 25 years in prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision.
