    Local police search for suspect after shooting, robbery

    AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – Akron police are looking for a suspect after a man was shot in the leg at a convenience store Sunday night.

    According to a press release from the Akron Police Department , a 20-year-old man was shot on the 400 block of North Hawkin Avenue around 11 p.m. during a “dispute.”

    The man sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and was taken to the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center, according to the release.

    The victim told police he was shot by a man in the parking lot. After the shooting, the suspect reportedly followed the victim inside the convenience store and threatened to kill him before stealing what was in the victim’s pockets.

    Akron police are now working to identify the suspect.
