Cliff Taylor announces candidacy for the 68th Assembly District
LADYSMITH, Wis. (WEAU) - Ladysmith Businessman and Navy Veteran Cliff Taylor is announcing his candidacy for the newly drawn 68th Assembly District. “I served my country in the Navy - came back home and started a family and business here in Northern Wisconsin. When I thought that there were some things going on in my county that needed to be addressed, I stepped up and served again at the county level. Now, with the direction this state is going under Governor Evers and the Republican establishment, I have decided that it is time for me to step up and serve one more time,” Taylor states in his campaign announcement.
Krouse and Schueneman face charges of homicide
By Ginna Young Two area adults are charged with reckless homicide, after they are accused of a part in an incident March 11. Casey Schueneman, 43, Holcombe, is charged with a Count of Reckless Homicide/Deliver Drugs, as Party to a Crime, and two Counts of Bail Jumping-Felony. Schueneman waived his right for counsel when appearing in court April 4, preferring to defend himself at that time, but did request the case be transferred to federal court, which was denied.
Local officials take part in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day
CHIPPEWA VALLEY, Wis. (WEAU) - It’s called National Prescription Drug Take-Back day. “Which is an opportunity for community members to safely dispose of any sort of medication that they have in their household that they may no longer need. Maybe they no longer need a medication after surgery, or maybe their medication is expired. Today really is just an opportunity for community members to safely dispose of that, so children, pets or other people don’t have access to the medication,” Public Health Specialist, Sarah Dillivan - Pospisil, said.
Over 300 Wisconsinites to be laid off after manufacturer opts to close facility
HAWKINS, Wis. (WFRV) – Over 300 Wisconsinites will be without a job after corporate officials at a manufacturing company made the decision to shut down permanently. According to a letter submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Jeld-Wen, a company that specializes in windows and doors, will be closing its only Wisconsin facility in the village of Hawkins, Rusk County.
