    Eau Claire man arrested after high-speed chase ends in crash on Highway 29

    STANLEY, Wis. (WKBT) -- An Eau Claire man is in custody after a high-speed chase in Chippewa County Sunday.

    According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, troopers stopped a vehicle on Highway 29 involved in a burglary in the City of Eau Claire. The burglary involved firearms, according to a release.

    Four people were removed from the vehicle before the driver sped off, law enforcement said.

    The driver led authorities on a chase reaching speeds of 117 MPH before ending in a crash on Highway 29.

    Troopers took the driver, 44-year-old Andre Germale Jordan Simmons of Eau Claire, into custody and transported him to the hospital for minor injuries.

    Two others inside the vehicle were turned over to the Eau Claire PD for their investigation.

    Wisconsin State Patrol's release indicates alcohol was involved. Charges for Simmons are pending investigation.
