Hannibal man found guilty of burglary, meth charges; could be sentenced to up to 22 years in prison
HANNIBAL, Mo. — A Hannibal man is facing up to 22 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections after being found guilty of three felonies. A jury in Marion County, Mo., on Tuesday, April 30, found Joshua Stevens, 42, of Hannibal guilty of burglary in the first degree, possession of a controlled substance and assault in the fourth degree. Stevens is scheduled to be sentenced on June 18 in Marion County Circuit Court by Judge Rachel Bringer-Shepherd. He could be sentenced to between five and 15 years on the burglary charge and up to seven years on the possession of a controlled substance charge. He could also receive up to one year in the county jail on the assault charge.

Palmyra woman pleads guilty to nine counts of fraudulent use of credit device, gets five years of probation
PALMYRA, Mo. — A Palmyra woman received five years of probation after pleading guilty to nine counts of fraudulent use of a credit device. Alissa D. Reed, 40, of Palmyra entered a guilty plea on Feb. 26 in Marion County Circuit Court. Judge David Mobley sentenced her on April 22 to 18 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections — two years for each of the nine counts — but suspended that sentence and put Reed on probation. Reed also was ordered to pay $21,462.44 in restitution to the victim and pay a fine of $27,000.
