Two Quincy men safely escape after crash on Knapheide Road ends with vehicle submerged
QUINCY — Two Quincy men safely escaped a vehicle after it crashed Wednesday night and was submerged in water along Knapheide Road. The Adams County Sheriff’s Department repoted a 2011 Toyota Camry driven by Tanner D.L. Bowen, 21, of Quincy was heading east on Knapheide Road, just west of Lyter Road. Bowen lost control of the vehicle, which left the south side of the road, went down an embankment and became submerged in water.
Head-on collision, on Highway P near Durham, leaves two injured
On the afternoon of March 26, 2024, two individuals were hospitalized following a head-on collision on Highway P, approximately two miles southeast of Durham, Missouri. According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident involved a 2013 Ford Fusion, driven by 62-year-old Paul A. Matakovic of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a 2020 Ford F150, operated by 56-year-old Vaughn M. Rennols of Maywood, Missouri.

Human remains found in Hannibal last month identified as local woman missing since 2022
HANNIBAL, Mo. — The remains of a Hannibal woman who has been missing since 2022 have been found. Ralls County Sheriff Brad Stinson reported in a press release Monday afternoon that Janesta Lynn Dildine’s remains were identified on Feb. 13 by a medical examiner in Columbia, Mo. Dildine was 29 when she went missing on July 23, 2022.

Car, garage considered total loss after Monday night fire in alley behind Hardee’s on Broadway
QUINCY — Firefighters extinguished a fire started by a car in a detached garage in the alley behind the Hardee’s restaurant on Broadway on Monday night. The Quincy Fire Department reported in a press release that it was alerted at 8:45 p.m. Monday, March 25, to a garage fully engulfed with fire at the rear of 2929 Vermont. It was reported that a car was in the garage. The first crew arrived on scene at 8:47 p.m. and found the detached garage off the alley was fully engulfed with fire. Firefighters deployed a hose line and began extinguishing the flames, making their way around all sides of the garage.
