Rice Lake to install new dock near Hospital Bay
The Rice Lake Parks and Recreation Department will be installing a new dock off Lakeshore Drive across from Heritage Lakeside just north of Indian Mound Park this month. Driver arrested after drug tip leads to traffic stop
BARRON COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) - The driver tried to dispose of meth into a liquid substance when they were pulled over. On April 25, 42-year-old Tomi Quagon of Stone Lake, Wis., was arrested on a probation warrant after a tip to the Barron County Drug Unit led to a traffic stop and search of their vehicle.

In Remembrance 5K Run/Walk is May 27
Registration deadline is May 5 for the In Remembrance 5K Run/Walk hosted by the Rice Lake Chamber of Commerce on May 27. The Memorial Day run/walk starts at 8 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park in Rice Lake. Run/walkers will follow Lakeshore Drive until Highway 48, then travel south to Short Street. The route then heads south on Wilson Avenue until Water Street where they will cross Main Street and traverse across the walking trail bridge. The last leg of the route will take runners and walkers down Main, Messenger and Newton streets to reach Lakeshore Drive on their way back to the park. To register visit ricelakechamber.org. Every year the Rice Lake Area Men's Club donates more than 95% of the funds it raises to Barron County organizations whose mission is aligned with the club's values, which are to support youth activities, services and education. Rice Lake, Minn.- The St. Louis County Historical Society is hosting a memorial run on Saturday. The 5k run-walk will be held in memory of Command Sergeant Major John S. Werner. CSM Werner was the first mayor of Rice Lake, Boy Scout troopmaster, mechanic, and of course veteran, with over 40 years of service. Unfortunately, Werner passed away this March. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Veterans Memorial Hall which leaders say Werner cared about deeply. Registration is $30 and the run will be held at the Other Place Bar and Grill.
