UPDATE: Man dead following single-vehicle crash in Lake Hallie
LAKE HALLIE, Wis. (WEAU) - The victim in Monday’s fatal crash in Lake Hallie has been named. Lake Hallie Police Chief Edward Orgon revealed today that 32-year-old John Buxton of Eau Claire, Wis., was the driver killed in a single-vehicle crash that happened on June 10 around 6:50 p.m. on Highway 53 South.

A Rice Lake woman was sentenced to probation on Tuesday on charges filed after police say she punched and kicked a process server, spit in an officer’s eye and resisted arrest at the Rice Lake Public Library in November 2022. Amy S. Seeger, 39, had been facing four charges on Tuesday going into Barron County Circuit Court. Work on Rice Lake south side intersection has begun; completion slated for August
Road work has started on the intersection of Decker Drive and Highway O/South Access Road on the south side of Rice Lake. Funded with help from the Highway Safety Improvement Program, the Barron County project aims to increase motorist safety.
