Iris Boutique building in Chippewa Falls must be repaired or razed in 60 days, city order states

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WKBT) -- The building housing a boutique business in Chippewa Falls must either be razed or repaired.

An order from the Chippewa Falls city inspector says that damage from a partial roof collapse has "left the building in a condition that is dilapidated, dangerous, unsafe, unsanitary and otherwise unfit for human use."

On June 3, the floor of apartment gave way and collapsed into the space below, occupied by Iris Boutique. No one was in the space at the time and there were no reported injuries. The business has been closed since.

The order, dated June 4, requires the building to be razed or repaired and restored to an erosion and dust free condition within 60 days. Should that not be completed, the city may take that on themselves and pass off the cost in the form of a tax lien on the property.

The building, located at 120 North Bridge Street, is owned by Talisak Properties LLC.
