Man arrested in connection with stabbing incident
PENOBSCOT -- A man has been charged with Domestic Violence Elevated Aggravated Assault following an incident Friday morning. According to the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a distress call from a female resident of Penobscot, reporting a man experiencing a medical event. When deputies arrived, they discovered the woman who called had been stabbed. She told a deputy that the man had fled on foot into the woods. The woman was transported to a local hospital by ambulance to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

A man being held at Two Bridges Regional Jail has hung himself, in the third suicide since Sagadahoc and Lincoln counties opened the facility on Wiscasset’s Route One in 2006, authorities told Wiscasset Newspaper. TBRJ is doing an internal investigation “as (is) normal procedure for any critical incident we have in the jail,” Col. James Bailey, TBRJ’s correctional administrator, said via email April 25.

SEARSMONT — A community is helping a family recover from a devastating fire that took the life of their dog on Sunday night, April 21. Jennifer Strazzulla, a staff member of Hope School and Lincolnville Central School, her husband, Chris, and their two young sons lost all their belongings in the fire, which consumed the entire two-story structure that sat along a single-lane dirt road parallel to Route 173, not far from the Lincolnville town line.

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A woman from Troy pleaded guilty on Friday in federal court in Bangor to social security fraud, health care fraud, and theft of public money. Court records say 49-year-old Christie Mitchell lied to the Social Security Administration and Maine DHHS about her husband’s presence in her household and his income for nearly seven years.
