Jeremy Theodore "Ted" Alex, aged 28, mysteriously vanished into the woods of Northport, Maine, on April 24, 2004, after expressing fear of being pursued by "bad guys." Born on April 8, 1976, to Ted and Paula Caswell, Jeremy was raised in Belfast, Maine, alongside his sister following his parents' divorce. He was a Belfast Area High School graduate, a Little League Baseball player, and later traveled the U.S., working with Greenpeace in California. Jeremy cherished skateboarding, gardening, and playing the guitar. At the time of his disappearance, he was a self-employed landscape gardener in Lincolnville, Maine, in the midst of relocating to Northport with his girlfriend.
50-year-old man killed in single vehicle crash in Carmel
CARMEL (WGME) - A 50-year-old male died after his car went off the road and crashed Saturday morning in Carmel. The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office says they responded to Fuller Road in Carmel at around 10:05 a.m. for a report of a single vehicle crash. Reports indicated there was one occupant in the vehicle, who was unresponsive.

Mass. man sentenced for June 2023 stabbing
BELFAST — A man convicted of stabbing another man in a homeless encampment, located in the area behind Renys plaza, was sentenced in Waldo County Unified Court Feb. 21. Justin P. Wilmot, 21, of Fitchburg, was sentenced for a number of charges related to the June 13 incident, during which Wilmot stabbed the victim in the back. The injury, though non-fatal, required the victim to be transferred to be treated in Portland for his injuries. The weapon used was reportedly a filet knife.

Chase on Maine highway leads to drug bust, multiple arrests
BANGOR, Maine — A police chase on Interstate 95 ended with a drug bust on Wednesday. BELFAST — The Belfast Area Chamber is growing, and will be moving to a larger office space just up the street at 33 Main Street, in Belfast. “Thanks to the incredible support of our valued members, we’ve outgrown our current space, and our new, 1,100 square-foot office will provide a more spacious and comfortable environment for visitors and the Chamber’s staff, volunteers and members,” said the Chamber, in a news release. “With two full-time employees, twenty volunteers, a high school intern and upwards of 80 visitors per day in the summer, our office at 14 Main is often overcrowded. Plus, as our membership base continues to grow, we may need room for an additional part-time person to help with marketing and administrative needs.”

I’ve been thinking about the roads of this little town recently. We have a kid with a driving permit, so I have been riding shotgun, as she explores the back roads. I think driving her to school every morning over the last couple years, taking the most obscure routes ever, has imparted my love of the roads less taken to my child.
